JEDCO Yet To Implement FG Electricity New Tarrif

The Jos Electricity Distribution Company, JEDCO is yet to suspend the implementation of the increase in tariff as directed by the Federal Government last week.

Correspondent reports that JEDCO is still selling a kilowatt of Electricity to customers at the rate of forty-seven naira four kobo as against the old rate of about twenty-nine naira per kilowatt.

Some customers, Tersoo Faga and Anayo Chukwuma lamented that the increase in tariff is not commensurate to power supply in their areas.

They appealed to the Government to impress on Generation, Transmission and Distribution Companies to improve on supply of electricity to their consumers before increment

When contacted, the Regional Manager JEDCO in Makurdi, Mr Joseph Kwaghgba said they were yet to receive directive to revert to the old tariff.
