Lawmakers at the Kogi State House of Assembly have endorsed Governor Yahaya Bello to vye for president in twenty twenty three.
The members also passed a vote of confidence on the governor to seek higher office in due course.
These followed separate motions sponsored by the members representing Olamaboro state constituency, Anthony Ujah and the Majority Leader Hassan Bello Abdullahi at plenary.
The lawmakers hinged their endorsement and vote of confidence on the fact that he was competent, focused, detribalised and had achieved much in security and turning around the fortune of the state.
They also said that since Nigeria returned to democracy, the North central zone had not been given the opportunity to take a shot at the presidency.
The house also urged the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, to zone the president’s seat to North Central and the Vice President’s seat to the Eatern zone in the spirit of inclusiveness and oneness.
