Kogi: Bello Orders Quarantine Of NCDC Officials

Kogi State Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello has ordered compulsory quarantine of Rapid Response Team from Federal Ministry of Health and NCDC Abuja before commencing their task in the state or leave.

He gave the directive when he received the delegation at Government House Lokoja.

The Governor dtated that the directive was in compliance with the WHO and NCDC protocols on COVID-19 on receiving persons from high risk Corona virus areas.

He said Government had taken several steps to avoid the spread of the disease to the state and insisted that Kogi was COVID-19 free.

He explained that Kogi had suffered huge human and economic losses from infectious diseases like Lassa and Yellow fever disease and wondered why they did not get similar attention in the state.

According to him, Government was focusing on other challenges in the state as well as the aftermath of COVID-19 pandemic.

Leader of the delegation, Mr Noah Andrew explained that they were in the state at the behest of Government to assess the level of preparedness, inspect isolation centres in the state and share protocols.
