Kogi COVID-19 Gov Bello Imposes Lockdown in Kabba Bunu LGA

Following the recent announcement by the NCDC that two suspected cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Kogi State the State Government has announced a total Lockdown on Kabba Bunu Local Government Area.

The State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello who announced this while briefing Newsmen at the Government House Lokoja said the Lockdown would commence from twelve midnight and would last for two weeks.

Alhaji Bello said Government was not taking chances noting that contact tracing had commenced in the area.

He urged residents of Kabba Bunu Local Government Area to abide by the measures taken by government as steps would be taken to reduce the hardships on them.

Alhaji Bello however disputed reports by the NCDC that the two suspected cases of COVID-19 were genuinely in Kogi.

According to him, the state government was reportedly not involved in the process leading to the confirmation of the two suspected cases which he said was against the NCDC protocols.

The Kogi State Governor therefore enjoined people of the state to maintain personal and environmental hygiene as they observe all precautionary measures.
