Kogi State Internal Revenue To Bost Revenue Generation In 2023

The substantive Chairman of the state Internal Revenue Service, Alhaji Sule Enehe, says the organization will continue to ensure tax compliance to generate revenue that will surpass the twenty-four billion state budget for the year twenty twenty-three.

Alhaji Enehe who disclosed this to journalists during an interactive session in Lokoja, said earlier this year they’ve brainstormed and strategized on the ways every area office in the state can increase revenue collection for the state.

Alhaji Enehe said looking at the company activities and potentials in the state, the state was still not where it ought to be in terms of revenue generation hence the plan to bring in Illegal miners of solid minerals, cashew and related businesses to pay their taxes.

On staff welfare, Alhaji Enehe stated that the processes for staff promotion and salary increments have commenced, as examinations and interviews were conducted and results are expected to be out in April this year.

The Chairman appealed to the public to cooperate with the service by paying taxes and calling their attention to fake tax collectors who may want to intimidate them.
