Kwara State Deputy Governor and Chairman Technical Committee on Corona Virus, COVID-19, Mr Kayode Alabi has intercepted loaded passenger buses coming into the state along Otte-Ogbomosho road in a clear violation of government’s lockdown.

Mr Alabi who was at Ilorin-Ogbomosho express road to monitor compliance with the government’s lockdown order, expressed displeasure that security officials at the roadblock were aiding road users to violate the government’s restriction order.

He berated security officials at the road block for allowing as many as twenty vehicles with hundreds of passengers to evade the lockdown and cross the border into the state.

Mr Alabi explained that the government would not allow the disease to be imported into the state.

The Deputy Governor while commending security agencies for partnering the state government to combat the disease however, affirmed that the Technical Committee would sanction the culprits appropriately.
