Namdas Tasks Journalists On Ethical Reportage

The Chairman, House Committee on Army, Mr. Abdulrazak Namdas, wants journalists to wake up to the challenge of conflict reporting that helps to proffer solutions rather than escalate the situation.

Mr. Namdas made the call at the opening of a capacity building workshop on Conflict Reporting for Journalists, organized in Abuja by a German Foundation, Konrad Adenauer Stiftung.

The lawmaker said the country was in a precarious security situation that required media expertise in reporting objectively with priority to national interest.

In a remark, the Resident Representative of Konrad Adenauer Stiftung in Nigeria, Mr. Vladimir Kreck, said the foundation was concerned with the survival of democracy in Nigeria and would collaborate with like minds to support the country as a critical development partner.

The workshop drew participants from various media organizations across the country with seasoned resource persons from the academia and the media.
