Nasarawa State government has Directed Relevant stakeholders in the local government administration to come out with the Authentic list for the payment of local government Staff salaries in the State.
Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has Directed ministry for local government, Directors of personnel management, Directors of finance of local government Council to immediately meet with the local government Auditor general to come out with the authentic list for payment of the local government staff salaries in the State.
Governor Sule gave the Directive at the end of the emergency meeting with the suspended Directors of personnel management, Directors of finance from thirteen local government and development areas, and chairman local government service Commission at the government house lafia.
The emergency meeting at the instance of governor Abdullahi Sule was a fall out of the suspension of Directors of personnel management and the Directors of finance from the thirteen local government and development areas of the state by governor Abdullahi Sule over inability of local government Chairmen to pay thier staff salaries in the State.
The meeting which lasted for several hours futured accusations and counter accusations between Directors of personnel management and Directors of finance of the local government and development areas and the ministry for local government community development and Chieftaincy affairs to find out the through positions and authenticity of the list for payment of local government workers in the State.
Speakings during the meeting governor Abdullahi Sule explained that the meeting was not to aportion blames on anybody but to find lasting sulotion to the lingering salary problems at the local government level in the State.
Governor Sule explained that the State government has inherited percentage payment of salaries to local government areas in the State, but with the effort put in place by government the issue of percentage payment is addresed.
Earlier in thier separate submissions, the Director of personnel management lafia local government area Mohammed Osabo and his finance counterparts in Karu local government area Abdullahi Baban Kiki both said there were discripancies that came from audited salary figures.
The Directors of personal management and Directors of finance of the thirteen local government and Development areas in Nasarawa State were suspended since Early November twenty-twenty over inability of local government Chairmen to pay thier Staff salaries.
