Nasarawa: International Women’s Day

Nasarawa State First Lady, Hajiya Silifat Abdullahi has called on Government at all levels to pay maximum attention to providing for the welfare of widows and the vulnerable groups to give them sense of belonging in the society.

Hajiya Silifat Abdullahi made the call in a statement by her media aide, Mr Lamino Ishaq in commemoration of the 2021 International Widows Day.

According to the statement, the first lady had resolved to deploy more resources through her pet project, Silifat Abdullahi Sule Hope Foundation towards initiating Programmes aimed at empowerment and welfare of widows and the vulnerable groups.

The statement enjoins Nigerians to mark the day in honouring as well as increase awareness on real issues and challenges associated with widowhood with a collective support to bring succour to widows around them.
