Nasarawa Law Maker Decried Non Payment Of Constituency Allowances

Member representing Karu Gitata Constituency, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Mr David Maiyaki has stressed the need for payment of constituency allowances to law makers to enable them serve the people better.

Mr David Maiyaki stated this while speaking with Radio Nigeria in Lafia.

According to Mr David Maiyaki, the non payment of constituency allowances for members of the state of Assembly had hampered their services to the people especially in the provision of social and other basic amenities.

He stated that in as much as the duties of law makers bother mainly on legislative functions, it would not be out of place to execute projects that have direct bearing on the growing needs of the people hence the need to commence payment of their constituency allowances.

The law maker noted that through his salaries , he had offered scholarships to 200 students from his constituency who are studying in various universities across the country, constructed 20 boreholes in Communities within the constituency among other projects he embarked upon in the last one year.

Mr David Maiyaki commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for his efforts in ensuring that the Federal Government took over construction of Mararaban- Gurku – Gitata road which according him if completed would decongest heavy traffic experienced on Keffi- Abuja road.
