Nasarawa PDP Accuse APC of Arm Twisting Traditional Rulers to Support their Party

The Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Nasarawa State have accused the All progressives Congress APC led administration in the state of arm twisting traditional rulers
to support the party in the forthcoming general elections.

Chairman of PDP in the state, Mr Francis Orogu who made the allegation at a campaign rally in Akwanga Local Government area,also alleged that some government officials were going round collecting the Voter Identification number of pensioners on a printed form as a condition for payment of their pension and gratuities.

Mr Orogu described the purported act as unfortunate, inhuman and an electoral malpractice as well as a deliberate attempt to manipulate the general elections in the state.

The PDP state chairman expressed confidence on candidates of the party to come out victorious in the elections.

Mr Francis Orogu therefore urged INEC and all relevant security agencies to go after the perpetrators and their sponsors,arrest and prosecute them to serve as deterrent to others. While urging the retirees to resist the ugly temptation.

The Director General of Atiku/Ombugadu campaign council in Nasarawa State, Mr Labaran Maku decried the lack of infrastructure development in the northern senatorial zone of the state and advised those that have not collected their PVC to do so to enable them vote candidate of their choice.

Other prominent personalities of the the party such senator Solomon Adokwe,senator Gyunka and former deputy governor, Mike Abdu called on supporters to remain steadfast and avoid any act that could breach the peace and electoral process.

Meanwhile, the Governorship candidate of Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Nasarawa state Dr David Ombugadu says one hundred women will be empowered in the 164 electoral wards of the state in his first hundred days if elected governor.

Dr Ombugadu who made the pledge at the ongoing statewide campaign tour of the party in Akwanga Local Government, said youths would also be given priority in the scheme of things .

The wannabe governor also promised to construct the first fly over bridge in the state at the popular Akwanga round about and construct ten kilometres road in the three local government areas of the zone in his first tenure in office.

The PDP governorship candidate reminded people of the zone about the construction of over one thousand water boreholes to rural communities, built over thirty hospitals and payment of health insurance to over twenty one thousand people among others ,when he was at the house of Representatives.

Dr David Ombugadu gave an assurance to address the security challenges in some parts of the state especially farmer /herders crises,cattle rustling, kidnapping and border disputes between communities in the state.
