Nasarawa State Gov Procures Microscopes For Diagnosis Of Tuberculosis

Nasarawa State government has procured a state of the art microscope worth over forty million naira under the Save One Million Lives programmed for diagnosis and treatment of cases of Tuberculosis in the state.

Presenting the five number microscopes to a group of scientists in Lafia, the state commissioner for health Ahmed Baba Yahaya urged them to make judicious use of the equipment to curtail the prevalence rate of Tuberculosis in the state.

Pharmacist Baba Yahaya said the present administration of governor Abdullahi Sule place premium to health, education and security hence the procurement of the health equipment.

In a remark, the state director public health, Dr. Adamu Ibrahim noted that the prevalence rate of Tuberculosis in the state was as a result of drug abuse and self medication.

Receiving the laboratory equipment, the state program manager Tuberculosis and leprosy, Dr. Danjuma Aboki thanked the state government for the gesture saying it would go a long way to help them in identifying and treating more Tuberculosis cases in the state.
Also speaking, the state program manager, Save one Million lives program, Mrs. Anna Joshua said each of the microscopes was procured by the state government through the save one million lives fund at the cost of eight million naira.
