Nasarawa State government has reiterated commitment towards providing quality, affordable and effective Health Care service delivery to its citizenry across the state.
Director Planning, Research, Statistics and ICT, Nasarawa State Health Insurance Agency, Mr Simon Eric Istifanus stated this shortly after sensitising stakeholders on the need to enroll into the scheme in Lafia.
Sensitising stakeholders drawn across the state on the importance of and primary objectives of health Insurance Scheme in the state, Director planning, Research, Statistics and ICT, Nasarawa State Insurance Agency, Mr Simon Eric Istifanus said the scheme aims at achieving universe Health Care Coverage to all and sundry to ease the hardship faced by citizens.
He said it would also save households without adequate financial protection from facing Risk of incurring large unforeseen medical expenditures when they are sick.
Mr Eric Istifanus called on people from public and private sector, security men,Retirees, Private Insurance among others to enroll themselves for cheaper cost while accessing health services.
The director of the Agency stated some conditions for benefiting from the scheme to include, payment of twelve thousands Naira while working class would pay Three p’ercent of their basic salary to be deducted monthly to provide health care services to them including their spouses and children.
In their goodwill messages, representatives of head of Civil service, Mr Abas Yahuza and that of ministry for health, Nasarawa State , Doctor Akpan Nsebasi both commended Nasarawa State government for catering for the healthcare needs of its citizenry.
They urged people in the state to avail themselves the opportunity for quality, affordable and effective health service delivery.
On their parts, some participants at the town hall meeting, Barrister Ovye Yakubu and Mr Gilla Emmanuel appreciated the state government for placing priority on the areas of health, promising to pass the message and knowledge gained to people at the grass roots.
They advised people of the state to enroll into the Insurance Scheme for their benefits.
