Nasarawa State House of Assembly has ordered the immediate removal of the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Aliyu Tijani from office following alleged fraud of about 300 million Naira.
This followed a motion moved by the member representing Lafia North state constituency, Mr Muhammad Alkali during plenary in Lafia the Nasarawa State capital.
Mr Muhammad Alkali said the report of the Ad-hoc Committee Investigating the Renovation and Fencing of Public Secondary Schools in the state had indicted him hence the need for his removal from office for transparency.
The House unanimously resolved that Alhaji Aliyu Tijani should refund over two hundred and forty six point six million Naira he failed to account for when he appeared before the committee to the state government coffers.
Speaker of the state House of Assembly Mr Ibrahim Balarabe directed Clerk of the house for immediate transmission of the resolution to the state Governor for necessary action.
The Secretary to the Nasarawa State Government Alhaji Aliyu Tijani was Commissioner for Education in the last administration when the one point four billion Naira contract for renovation and Fencing of over sixty public secondary schools was awarded.
