Nasarawa state government has disbursed twenty thousand Naira each to one hundred and fifty women across thirteen local government areas of the state as start up grant to enable them become self employed.
During the disbursement of the funds at the government house lafia, governor Abdullahi Sule said the gesture was part of his administration’s commitment to empower women across the State.
Addressing the beneficiaries, governor Abdullahi Sule explained that women are the backbone of any given society which contribute largely in driving the economy and sustaince of social and community wellbeing, through inculcating moral values of Children.
Govenor Sule noted that women more often than now suffer setback and deny access opportunities to harness thier potential for the benefit of the Society.
The state governor pointed out that this informed government decision to prioritize women empowerment and youths across the State to make them key players the development of the economy.
Charging the beneficiaries of to make judious use of the grant, the state governor said government would continue to provide an enabling environment for women and youths inline with the policy objectives of his administration.
In her opening remark Commissioner for women affairs and social development Hajiya Halima jabiru Commended the effort of governor Sule for his enomous support to women across the State.
Some beneficiaries Talatu Musa and Binta Ajuji thanked the state government and promised to use the funds to boost thier businesses.
The beneficiaries were trained on production of hand sanitizer, soap making, perfume, bread making,cake baking, pomade among others.
