Navy hydrographic ship NNS LANA arrives Nigeria

The new Navy Hydrographic ship NNS LANA has arrived the shores of the country and was received by the Chief of Naval Staff vice Admiral Awwal Gambo at NNS BEECROFT jetty Apapa.

Vice Admiral Gambo said the induction of NN LANA into the Nigerian Navy fleet with its state of the art hydrographic survey equipment would enhance the capacity of the service to conduct hydrographic survey and provide charting services for safe navigation.

The flag officer commanding western naval command Rear Admiral Jason Gbassa whose territory the ship landed noted that NNS LANA would assure safety of naval and merchant traffic over the sea due to the hydrographic technology.

The FOC said With NNS LANA joining the fleet, the maritime industry can be assured of getting improved and reliable hydrographic data and information from the NN to guide maritime activities.

Senior officers of the military and paramilitary were on ground to witness the event

NBA LANA before her arrival paid a port calls to four countries, Portugal, Spain, The Gambia and Ghana.
