NCDC To Set Up Molecular Lab In Nasarawa State

The Nigeria center for disease control NCDC is to set up a Molecular laboratory in Nasarawa state to facilitate testing for covid nineteen patients in the state.

The Director general of the NCDC Doctor Chikwe Iheakweazu stated this in lafia the state capital during a visit to Governor Abdullahi Sule at the government house lafia.

Commending the efforts of the Nasarawa state government for its huge investment in the health sector and the approach in fighting covid nineteen pandemic in the state, the Director general of the NCDC said molecular laboratory will be established within a short period of time in the state to facilitate testing for dreaded covid nineteen.

The NCDC boss explained that considering the position of the state in the National geography the health challenges confronting the state would be surmounted.

Doctor iheakwezu maintained that thier visit to Nasarawa state was to asses the health facilities put in place by the state government towards fighting the killer virus.

Appreciating the Nigeria center for disease control NCDC for assessment visit, Governor Abdullahi Sule informed the NCDC boss that since before the outbreak of covid nineteen pandemic in the state some of the health structures were on ground against any eventual outbreak of diseases such as covid nineteen.

Governor Sule told his guest that the state is working towards promoting economic empowerment,creating employment, but with special attention on the security and health of the citizenry.
