NEMA Evacuates 196 Stranded Nigerians From India

The Federal Government has evacuated 196 stranded Nigerians in India back to the country.

The returnees retuned to the country on Friday evening.

NEMA in collaboration with other relevant agencies coordinated the repatriation exercise.

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Sadiya Umar Farouq gave the returnees a token of $100 for transportation to their various homes after and enjoined them to be law-abiding.

Represented by a Deputy Director in the Ministry, Suleiman Abubakar the Minister said the token provided by the federal government was meant to support the movement of the returnees back home.

The returnees thanked the Federal Government for the special intervention in their safe evacuation back home and also appealed for government’s support to enable them become more useful to the country.
