NHIS Reads Riot Act To Accredited Healthcare Providers

The Zonal Coordinator, National Health Insurance Scheme NHIS, North Central Zone ‘A’, Alhaji Abdulganiyu Onimajesin has warned accredited healthcare facilities under the Scheme in the zone to stop turning down enrollees from accessing care, or get sanctioned.

Alhaji Onimajesin in an Interview i spoke against the background of complaints by some enrollees that they were denied access to services in some facilities within kwara state.

He said no facility is permitted to turn down or deny enrollees their right to services under the Scheme, as the Scheme had paid every facilities three months capitation for fear of COVID 19 pandemic crisis.

Alhaji Onimajesin however warned that any facility reported or caught denying enrollees their right to access services covered by the Scheme would be sanctioned accordingly.

He therefore encouraged enrollees not hesitate to report any facility that denied them their right to access quality services in whatever form to the NHIS.
