Nigeria Set To Recieve COVID-19 Vaccine

Nigeria is set to receive One hundred thousand doses of COVID-19 vaccine.

The Executive Director of National Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr Faisal Shuaib made this known at a tour of three Ultral Cold Chain equipment for the storage of the vaccines.

Dr Shuaib said the first batch of the COVID -19 Vaccines will arrive the country by the end of January or in February 2021.

The Executive Director gave the assurance that the vaccines upon arrival in the country would be tested and certified by National Agency for Foods, Drugs Administration Control, NAFDAC before administrating them.

He expressed the confidence that Nigeria was capable of storing and managing the vaccines.

Dr Shuaib said 70% of Nigerians which was about 150,000 people are targeted in the next 2years to receiving the vaccines.

He noted that religious leaders and traditional rulers would be carried along to ensure those at the grassroots are vaccinated against COVID-19.
