Nigerian Air Force and other security agencies have been charged to explore contemporary warfare in tackling insecurity challenges in the country.
Minister of Defence, Retired Major General Bashir Magashi gave the charge at the graduation ceremony of Air Force War College course seven, twenty twenty-one at the Air Force Base Makurdi.
The minister who identified the different forms of security challenges to include, terrorism, armed banditry, kidnapping, ethno-religiuos crises and farmer-herder conflicts, challenged the new officers to be proactive in addressing insecurity in their various areas of posting.
Represented by the Director, Army Affairs, Mr Sunday Adah, Retired Major General Magashi however commended the Chief of the Air staff and personnel of the Nigerian Air Force for playing critical roles in summonting the insecurity and urged them not to relent until the hydra headed monster is permanently defeated.
The Defence Minister restated the Federal government’s continue support to the armed forces to carry out their responsibilities and congratulated the graduating officers for completing their training as operational level commanders.
Governor Samuel Ortom represented by the Secretary to the state government Professor Tony Ijohor expressed hope that with the training of the officers more success would be recorded in the state.
Chief of the Air staff, Air Marshal Isiaka Amao and the commandant AirForce war college, Air vice marshal Ibrahim Ali said the college has so far trained about one hundred and thirty five officers and are now serving various sectors of the military operation.
Some of the graduating officers including Commanders Samuel Ahmed and Ucheena Ihedewa thanked the Chief of the staff airl for providing them a platform to receive the trainingl and assured of using the the knowledge gained for the protection of lives and property across the nation.
High points of the ceremony were the conferment of fellow of commanders and presentation of certificates as well as awards to the best performing graduating officers.
