The enforcement of compulsory use of face masks has been strengthened in Benue State following the increase in number of infections in the second wave of COVID-nineteen.
Correspondent reports that staff and visitors without face masks were turned back at the gates of Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies in Makurdi.
At the Federal Secretariat and the National Identity Management Commission Office, security personnel were stationed at the gate to ensure that people had their facemasks worn while those without were denied access.
Those who went for their NIN but violated the new order had to buy before been allowed entry at the National Identity Management Commission Office.
A security personnel at the Federal Secretariat gate, Peter Offikwu said the order became necessary as part of measures to prevent the spread of the virus.
One of the hawkers of the masks at the NIMC office, Caleb Chukwuka stated that he has made brisk business as a result of the order.
He advised people to always put on their facemasks wherever they go to help the Government in curtailing the spread of COVID-nineteen.
