NRM Governorship Candidate Debunks Purported Withdrawal from Race

Good morning gentlemen of the Press. I am Alhaji Abubakar Musa Sambo, Gubernatorial Candidate of NRM in Nasarawa State. I am happy to address you this morning over an important issue concerning my aspiration to the position of Governor in Nasarawa state.

This Press Conference has become necessary to set the record straight regarding a video clip that has gone viral on various social media platforms as well as some conventional media stations to the effect that I have jettisoned my ambition and have stepped down for the Gubernatorial Candidate of the PDP, Hon David Umbugadu.

I would like to state categorically and for the records that this is not true. Let me further clarify that I Alhaji Abubakar Musa Sambo remain not only the authentic but also the acceptable candidate of NRM in Nasarawa state.

The news is not only fake but also unfounded and malicious being spread by politicians who are desperate to achieve their political goals through whatever means possible.

I wish to also state that I have been approached by various leading political parties in the state on the possibility of withdrawing from the race and to support their respective candidates in the forthcoming 2023 Governorship and State Assembly elections in the state.

At this point I am yet to make a final decision on the matter and will be happy to make it known to the people of the state at the appropriate time.

Finally, I want to thank my teeming supporters, and officials of my party from the ward to the National Level for their immense support of me.

Let me also thank the coordinators from the ward to the zona level as well as members of my Campaign Council in the state who cherish this unflinching support.
