Leaders of various unions that make up the Organised Labour in Nasarawa State have locked the main entrance to the state Secretariat in compliance with the indefinite strike.
Some of the workers who spoke with Radio Nigeria on condition of anonymity said the action of the union leaders was the best to salvage the civil service from total collapse due to lack of attention by the state government.
The workers explained that for over 14 years there had not been promotion, no annual increment to their salaries, non implementation of the minimum wage in full were some of their demands.
School children were seen returning home as no teachers were attending to them.
