Nasarawa State chairman of the Peoples Democratic party PDP, Mr Francis Orogu has appealed to traditional rulers in the state to remain neutral and apolitical ahead of the general elections next month.
Mr Francis Orogu who made the call at a PDP campaign rally in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government area, said the call became imperative to remind the monarchs of their role as Fathers to all contestants irrespective of tribal,religious and party affiliations.
He maintained that as custodians of tradition and customs of the people,traditional rulers should avoid partisan politics to keep the trust and integrity of their position intact..
The PDP chairman however expressed confidence that candidates of the party would be Victorious at the polls without much competition.
PDP governorship candidate for Nasarawa State, Dr David Ombugadu described Nasarawa Eggon as a second home and no need to campaign as they can testify what he did during his days at the national assembly. .
Dr Ombugadu gave an assurance to do more than he did in the areas of provision of portable water,transformers to boost electricity supply ,hospitals, schools and health care facilities among other necessary amenities to the benefit of masses.
