PMB Delivers Plan To Achieve Universal Health Coverage

The Federal Ministry of health is addressing a multi stakeholders media briefing to communicate the vision of president Mohammadu Buhari on delivering Universal Health Coverage to Nigerians.

A statement from the National Primary Health care development agency says the president vision is in keeping with the Economic recovery and growth plan agenda of the Federsl government, which addresses the three key dimensions of economic, social, and environmental sustainability issues.

Meanwhile President Mohammadu Buhari has rolled out a nine point, medium term plan to ramp the push towards achieving universal health coverage in Nigeria.

They include implimentation of Mandatory health Insurance, Operationalization of the Basic Healthcare Provision fund, as well as re recruitment and deployment of 50,000 community health Extension workers.

The minister of health, Dr Osagie Ehanire who represented the president stated these at the ongoing multi stakeholders Media briefing on presidents next level agenda for the health sector.
