President Muhammadu Buhari has inaugurated the Multi-Million Naira Reference Hospital, Okene, Okene Local Government area of Kogi State.
The President who was elated with the construction of the 300-bed capacity commended Governor Bello for delivering on the state-of-the-art hospital.
Earlier at a town hall meeting, President Buhari had assured the people of Kogi State that his administration was resolving the disputes surrounding the takeover of the Ajaokuta Steel Company.
He disclosed that over 400 million dollars had been spent so far in resuscitating the steel complex noting that the benefits of AJASCO were numerous including thousands of direct and indirect jobs.
Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello expressed gratitude to President Buhari for the visit to commission his Legacy Projects in the state.
He pointed out that his administration had determined to serve the people and hence had religiously followed the government’s blueprint for development.
In his remarks, Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, His Royal Majesty Doctor Ado Ibrahim who was represented by the Ohi Okengwe, Alhaji Tijani Mohammed Anage appreciated President Buhari for his support to the State.
Among the projects inaugurated by President Muhammadu Buhari is the new Palace of Ohinoyi of EbiraLand, the fly-over Bridge at Ganaja Junction Lokoja, the Muhammadu Buhari Square, Lokoja and the GYB Model Science Secondary School Adankolo Lokoja as well as the Okene-Agasa-Ogbogoro road in Okene.
Meanwhile, an explosion occurred at the Karaworo junction, close to the Ohinoyi’s Palace hours before President Buhari touched down in Okene.
Though, there have not been official statements as of the time of reporting, at least three persons were killed in the explosion.
