Federal Government and the National Assembly have been called to scrap either Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC or Ministry of Niger Delta as the existence of the two amount to duplication of agencies.
A Human Resources Practitioner and Public Affairs Analyst, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi made the call while speaking with Radio Nigeria in Ilorin.
According to Alhaji Abdullahi, the country cannot afford duplication of agencies in view of the present economy situation and the fight against corruption.
While calling for effective oversight function by concern bodies, the Public Affairs Analyst advised President Muhammadu Buhari to order arrest and prosecution of those fingered on corrupt practices in the NDDC.
On the forthcoming Edo and Ondo elections, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi enjoined security apparatuses to put adequate measures in place to checkmate all forms of lawlessness during the process.
He however called for prosecution of previous elections’ offenders across the country to serve as deterrent to others.
Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi advised political parties as well as electorates in Edo and Ondo States to play the game according to the rules devoid of rancour.
