Radio Nigeria Highland FM has upgraded it’s transmission from analog to digital operations.
This follows the successful installation of a new digital transmitter.
Speaking at the inauguration of the equipment, the Zonal Director Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, North Central Mallam Haruna Idris charged staff of the station to redouble their efforts to justify the huge government’s investment.
Addressing staff before the switchover, the Zonal Director FRCN North Central, Mallam Haruna Idris said the gesture was part of Federal Government’s effort to revitalize broadcasting.
According to Mallam Idris the switchover to digital transition, would challenge staff to professionally package news and programs to attract the wide expected listenership and boost revenue.
The Zonal Director also urged staff to collectively ensure adequate maintenance of the transmitter for longevity.
On her part, the General Manager Radio Nigeria Highland FM, Patience Jatau said the switchover was a mile stone achievement for the station as it was long awaited.
JATAU who highlighted some of the challenges faced during the analog transmitter promised to give priority to quality content in news and programming
She commended the Federal Government and the Director General as well as Zonal Director for making sure FRCN remains the best.
Also speaking, contractor in charge of the installation , Engineer Muhammad Mehir who spoke from the professional point of view gave an assurance that the impact of the new transmitter would be felt for a long period of time.
