Abraham Aondo reports that the down pour affected roads, streets, residential houses, workshops, markets, offices, hotels and motor parks.
In areas such as Akpehe, Logo one, Agber village, Kaamem, Achusa media village, Gyado Villa, Wurukum Market, Idye and Wadata the flood water has submerged houses and shops, destroying valuable items and food stuffs.
Major roads and streets have also been washed away with many others littered with refuse creating sanitation challenge to the Benue state Environmental Sanitation Authority, BENSESA.
Motor parks including Flight and Pleasure Travels, Wurukum market, Akpehe road and Anchaver Agiah street were in flood water.
Mr Stephen Terlumun from behind Pleasure Travels motorpark said the flood water has destroyed his computers and other valuable items in his cyber cafe.
Mrs Grace Ikyaator who was her goods at Wurukum market expressed surprise over the rainfall saying she thought the days of down pour for this year were over.
Commenting, the General Manager, Benue State Environmental Sanitation Authority, BENSESA Mr Solomon Onah said the agency was overwhelmed by the destruction caused by the flood.
Mr Onah advised residents to also help the Government by complying with sanitation guidelines to avoid the bitter experience from reoccurring.
