Schools in Kogi state including state owned tertiary institutions today resume academic activities after months of of closed down due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
A visit to Limi Nursery and primary school, Kogi state women Affairs UBE school and LGEA primary school, all in Gadumo Lokoja showed that there were large turnout of while the school authorities took time to check their temperature before allowing them in.
At Government Science Secondary School, Lokoja also indicated that the turnout was impressive and most of the students were in face masks and maintaining social distancing and other safety protocols as specified by NCDC.
Also at Kogi state Polytechnic Lokoja students were seen trooping in in readiness for academic activities.
Some students who spoke with Radio Nigeria said they were excited to have resumed after months of staying at home.
In an interview with the principal of Government Science Secondary School, Lokoja Mr Ibrahim Onipe said that any students without face masks would be allowed entry and urged parents to provide the items in the interest of their wards.
It would be recalled that Kogi state announced that all schools including state owned tertiary institutions would resume on fourteenth of September for academic activities.
