Senate To Investigate 5G Network

The Senate says it will conduct a thorough investigation to determine the status and technological impact of the 5th Generation (5G) network in the country.

This is contained in a motion by Senator Lilian Ekwunife, Representing Anambra Central who expressed concern on the alleged discussion on whether the country is already connected to the network or not.  

She explained that the investigation was necessary to ensure that citizens were not exposed to risks of that might be caused by the 5G network technology.

According to senator Ekwunife, several countries, like Switzerland has placed an indefinite moratorium on the use of 5G network because of its alleged health concerns.

In a remark, President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, noted that the investigation was necessary to enable the the Red Chamber have adequate information to discuss the matter.
