The Sokoto-Tambuwal-Jega–Koko–Yauri – Kontagora and Makera road reconstruction project in Kebbi State has been inaugurated.
The Federal Executive Council approved N8.39 billion in April 2021 as an augmentation to the contract awarded by the Goodluck Jonathan administration in 2012.
The Minister of Justice, Mr Abubakar Malami, who represented President Muhammadu Buhari at the commissioning in Koko Bese Local Government Area, said the project was part of the President’s objectives to strengthen road transport infrastructure.
“I am confident to say that, the project shows our determination to improve the ease of doing business in Nigeria”. According to Mr Malami
Kebbi State Governor, Senator Atiku Bagudu, said the road was an important economic hub, saying it would facilitate cross-boundary trade along vital corridors, and serve as a source of livelihood for many traders.
Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola, stated that the route offers enormous investment possibilities for both current and future generations.
