Sowore Remanded In Kuje Correctional Centre Over Protest

Convener of RevolutionNow protest, Omoyele Sowore and four others have been remanded in Kuje Correctional Centre until hearing on a bail application on January 5.

They were arraigned at the Magistrate Court in Wuse Zone 2, Abuja, for allegedly calling for a violent revolution against President Muhammadu Buhari, according to prosecutors.

The Federal Government is charging him with criminal conspiracy, unlawful assembly, and attempting to incite others.

They all pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Sowore was arrested by the police for leading a protest against bad governance on New Year’s Eve in Abuja.

He was also detained for over 100 days in 2019 for calling for a #RevolutionNowProtest
