Taraba Speaker Resigns, Bonzina Takeover

The Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Professor Joseph Albasu Kunini has resigned from his position.

An emergency session was held at the Chamber of the house on Wednesday around 8 am in Jalingo, which was presided over by the Deputy speaker of the house, Hamman Adama Abdullahi.

Reading the resignation letter sent by the lawmaker, Joseph Albasu Kunini, Mr Abdullahi said the former Speaker said his resignation was based on personal reasons.

Meanwhile, member representing Zing state constituency, former Chairman House Committee on Education, as well as the Chief Whip of the 9th Assembly, Mr John Kizito Bonzina has been sworn in as the new Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly.
