In it’s bid to support the fight against Covid 19,the Tertiary Education Trust Fund ,TETFUND has donated food items to the Benue State Government to be distributed to the vulnerable people in the state.
Presenting the items at the Benue people’s House Makurdi,the executive secretary of TETFUND professor Suleiman Bogoro represented by the consultant to the agency architect Asema Achado said the donation was meant to cushion the economic hardship faced by residents following the lockdown order to contain the spread of the virus.
Professor Bogoro explained that due to the adverse effects of Covid 19 on the economy,the federal government has made available palliatives to address the hardship been faced by vunerable members of the society.
The TETFUND secretary commended the committee for the efforts in curtailing the spread of the virus in the state.
Responding,the deputy Governor and chairman Benue State action committee on Covid 19 Engineer Benson Abounu appreciated TETFUND for the donation and assured of the prompt distribution of the palliative to the most vulnerable in the state.
Correspondent Moses Adikwu reports that the items donated include two thousand four hundred and Ninety six bags of five kilograms of rice,one thousand four hundred and fifty bags of five killograms of Semovita and Four hundred and sixty cartons of Sphagetti.
