Thugs Block INEC Officials in Niger State

Some people have been trapped in the bush after hoodlums failed to allow a hitch-free primary election of Agaie-Lapai Federal Constituency in Niger State.

Radio Nigeria understands that the thugs blocked and compelled INEC officials to sign a fake ballot around Kutiriko village.

Some residents who spoke to Radio Nigeria from their hideout called on Security operatives to come to their aid.

In an interview, the Divisional Police Officer in Agaie, SP Mohammed Ibrahim said the delegates and others from Lapai were discouraged from returning last night after INEC announced postponement but they insisted and were provided with an escort.

He noted that everything is being done to avert further breakdown of law and order in the two Local Government Areas which constituted the Constituency.
