A coalition of youths in Nasarawa State has called on the state House of Assembly to expedite action and pass the proposed Nasarawa State Youth Development Commission Bill to allow more participation of youths in governance.
State Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Comrade Akolo David Alaku made the call during a news briefing at the end of a Town Hall Meeting in Lafia the Nasarawa State capital.
Comrade Akolo David also stressed the need for Governor Abdullahi Sule to give more opportunities for youths in the upcoming appointments of commissioners in the state especially in the ministry of Youths and Sports Development.
He pointed out that one major way of curtailing restiveness, political thuggery, drug abuse and other forms of criminal activities was the need to create accessible sustainable platforms for full participation of youths in governance.
While commending Governor Abdullahi Sule for his efforts towards entrenching peace in the state, Comrade Akolo David however called on the state government to be proactive in the area of job creation.
