An appeal has been made to the Plateau State Commissioner of Police to deploy security personnel to the premises of Highland FM to curb the incessant vandalism of its Transformer.
The General Manager, Radio Nigeria Highland FM Jos, Patience Jatau, made the plea when she paid him a courtesy visit at the Command’s Headquarters in Jos.
The General Manager noted that the transformer has been vandalized over five times and emphasized the urgent need to take necessary measures to prevent further incidents.
She commended the Commissioner for his effective approach to curbing crime in the state, citing his operational strategies, intelligence gathering, and experience, which have led to numerous arrests of criminals.
She pledged the station’s commitment to providing comprehensive coverage of the force’s activities for the progress of the state and nation.
Responding, the State Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Adesina, appreciated Radio Nigeria for its role in information dissemination and the coverage of police activities.
He assured that the command would enhance its operations, conducting day and night patrols around the station’s premises.
The Commissioner of Police issued a stern warning to individuals involved in the vandalism, cautioning that those apprehended would be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
In a related development, the police command paraded three suspects linked to armed robbery and kidnapping, who were reportedly terrorizing the communities of Kishiki and Binchin village in Bassa Local Government Area.
The CP attributed the suspects’ arrest to valuable intelligence from the public and disclosed that items recovered from them included locally-made rifles.
He assured that upon completion of investigations, the suspects would be charged in court.
Additionally, he mentioned that a locally fabricated rifle was recovered from a suspect identified as Kokyak in Mabudi, Langtang South.

The police commissioner assured that the command is working to restore peace and minimize crime in the state, leveraging its constitutional authority.
