The Forum of Ex-Political Office Holders of the 21 Local Government Areas of Kogi has appealed to Governor Usman Ododo to pay the outstanding of two point Seven Billion Naira owed them by the previous administration on compassionate grounds.
At a press conference in Lokoja, Chairman of the Forum, Musa Abdullahi, said the call became imperative in view of the economic hardship faced by members, with some battling with ailments and other issues that needed financial attention.
Musa described Governor Ododo as a compassionate Servant Leader whose milk of kindness has continued to impact on the people of the State.
He stressed that the forum, after careful examination of all successes of the Governor in the areas of Education, Security, Women and Youth Empowerment, Rural Electrification, among others, passed a vote of confidence on him, promising to garner support for his re-election into office for the second term.
The Forum used the opportunity to also console with Governor Ododo over the death of his father, as well as felicitate with him on the anniversary of the creation of the State 34 years ago.
Also speaking, the Secretary of the Forum, Muhammed Idris Omale, while urging the Governor to give attention to the payment of their outstanding areas, said the body, which cuts across the 239 wards in the State, had agreed to work for the re-election of the Governor in 2028.
