The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA, has destroyed a 3-hectare cannabis farm valued at N50 million in Plateau State.
The State Commander of the NDLEA, Mr Anthony Gotar, disclosed this while addressing Journalists in Jos.
Mr. Gotar, while parading six suspects linked to the farm, revealed that 15 kilograms of dried cannabis were recovered during the operation in Tobet and Salek villages of Jipal District, Mangu Local Government Area.
He added that raids were carried out within the Jos-Bukuru metropolis, resulting in the apprehension of three drug dealers.
The State Commander stated that most of the apprehended drug users, after undergoing counseling interventions, would be released to their families for proper reintegration.
He appealed to the government to complete the Command’s skills acquisition and rehabilitation center, which would significantly enhance the treatment and rehabilitation of drug-dependent individuals.
The NDLEA Commander commended sister agencies in the state for their collaborative efforts, which have been instrumental to the agency’s success.
He also urged the public to continue providing credible information to aid the Command’s operations in ridding the state of illicit drugs.
