The administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has recorded significant achievements in the past two years, particularly in Kogi State and the North Central zone.
Former Head of the Federal Information Centre, Alhaji Lawal Karim Shaibu, stated this in Lokoja during an enlightenment programme on the Federal Government’s achievements in the state.
Shaibu noted that the Federal Government had embarked on several intervention initiatives aimed at cushioning the effects of the current economic hardship.
According to him, the interventions include the revamping of the Ajaokuta Steel Company and the flag-off of five Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) mini plants in Ajaokuta Local Government Area.
He listed others to include, the NELFUND student tuition loan scheme, direct cash support, and grants for market stabilization, the implementation of pension increases, and the Community Revolving Fund under the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) project.
In her address, the current Head of the Federal Information Centre, Mrs. Sabina Abalaka, acknowledged that the Federal Government had taken some tough but necessary decisions.
She appealed for patience from Nigerians, assuring that the current challenges would soon give way to economic recovery and sustainable growth.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the event and Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Gambo Kabir Mai-Karfi IV, represented by the Matawalle of Lokoja, Alhaji Alabi, commended the Federal Government for introducing the student loan scheme, noting that the initiative would go a long way in securing the future of Nigerian students.
