Team Kogi has recorded an impressive outing at the ongoing National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State, clinching a total of seven medals.
According to our Sports Correspondent, the team secured two gold medals and four bronze medals in table tennis, while also bagging a silver medal in taekwondo.
Coach of the Table Tennis Team, Friday Abah, expressed delight at the players’ performance, commending their resilience and determination.
He noted that their success has brought pride to the state on the national stage.
Abah also extended appreciation to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Mr. Monday Anyebe, for their support.
He, however, called for increased investment in grooming young athletes to sustain Kogi’s rising profile in sports.
The ninth edition of the National Youth Games features participation from all 36 states of the federation as well as the Federal Capital Territory.
