Kwara State Contingents to the just concluded year 2025 National Youth Games, held in Asaba, Delta State, have arrived Ilorin metropolis safely.
In a statement by the Press Secretary, Kwara State Sports Commission, Saheed Abdullahi, appreciated Governor AbdulRahaman AbdulRazaq for being morally and financially supportive of the team throughout the sporting activities.
According to it, the contingent, comprised of athletes, coaches, sports secretaries, medical and media personnel, as well as other officials, arrived at the State Capital hale and hearty.
It says that Kwara athletes garnered 15 gold, 10 silver, and 19 bronze in 24 out of 37 sports events, including squash, table tennis, lawn tennis, swimming, wrestling, Judo, Dart, and power lifting, among others, to secure 5th position in the national tourney.
The statement also salutes the doggedness of athletes and other stakeholders for making the state proud, particularly in winning medals.
