Governor Caleb Mutfwang has directed that displaced women and the vulnerable should be prioritized in the allocation of shops in the new ultra modern Bukuru market.
The Governor gave the directive during the official commissioning of the Market constructed by the Jos Metropolitan Development Board, JMDB.
Governor Caleb explained that the construction of the state-of-the-art market was driven by the plight of women in the state, which is why he wants them to be prioritized in shop allocation.

He thanked the JMDB General Manager and his team for reviving the board, noting that his administration’s vision is to build a sustainable and thriving environment for the improvement of residents welfare and liberate them from poverty.
Mutfwang called on citizens of the State to join hands towards building the Plateau of everyone’s dream.
Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Naanlong Daniel expressed confidence in the capacity of the General Manager of JMDB to deliver, stressing that the House of Assembly was satisfied with the agency’s activities.

He pledged to work with the executive to ensure it delivers on its people oriented projects and sued for continuous support towards propelling the State to greater heights.
General Manager of the Jos Metropolitan Development Board, Hart Bankat expressed satisfaction with the level of development across the State and noted that building the market was aimed at alleviating the plight of traders in the State.

He stated that the market will serve as a hub for economic activities in the State while phase two of the project is ongoing.
In their separate goodwill massages, representatives of the Gbong Gwom Jos, Chairman of the Traders Association, the contractor and Chairman of Jos South Local Government Area, all expressed appreciation to the Governor for the developmental strides witnessed in the State and pledged their support.



In a vote of thanks, the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Sylvanus Dangtoe said a consultant had been hired to review and upgrade the Greater Jos Master plan for more efficiency.
