The National Orientation Agency, NOA in Benue State has rounded off its National enlightenment campaign on the five thematic areas on peace and national development with a road show in parts of Makurdi to re-echo the message.
The road show commenced at a motor park in the Wurukum area of Makurdi and terminated at the High Level motor park during which staff of the National Orientation Agency were provided music by the band crew of the NYSC to boost their morale in carrying out the sensitisation.
It was another platform for the National Orientation Agency to promote its five thematic areas which include Security Consciousness, Flood Mitigation, Value Reorientation on Extreme Sign out Practices in School, Nigeria Identity Project and National Symbols which were all visibly projected on placards.
The NOA Director in Benue State, Mark Dewua explained that the exercise was to put finishing touches to the two weeks of enlightening the people in urban centres while staff of the Agency would sustain it in the rural areas.
Mr. Dewua stressed that the campaign availed the public of Federal Government’s intervention in critical areas that are already impacting on its citizens.
Controller, Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment in Benue, Engineer Terkura Mngbajime who participated in the show described it as rewarding while another participant, Faith Yaasa called for regular sensitisation.
A representative of the National Union of Road Transport Workers at the High Level motor park, George Ameh lauded the Federal Government for its strategic intervention in areas that would improve the lives of Nigerians.
He assured that the union would continue to support the Government in the area of security by thoroughly scrutinizing its passengers and reporting suspicious faces to security agencies for necessary action.
