Vice President Kashim Shettima has left Abuja for New York to attend the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The Vice President, who is standing in for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will present Nigeria’s national statement at the global gathering and participate in the high-level general debates, alongside other world leaders.
Senator Shettima is also expected to unveil Nigeria’s new Nationally Determined Contributions under the Paris Climate Agreement during a special UN climate event.
The session runs from Monday, September 22, to Sunday, September 28, 2025.
