Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, says his administration remains committed to equitable development across all parts of the state, including Kwara South.
Speaking at the Strategic Consultation of Kwara South Leaders with the theme, “Reawakening the Giants”, Governor AbdulRazaq highlighted several completed and ongoing infrastructure projects in the region.
The Governor, represented by the Deputy Chief of Staff, Princess Adebukola Babalola, stated that at least 63 kilometers of roads have been completed in Kwara South, while another 109 kilometers are under construction.
The projects, according to him, include key routes such as Ajase-Ipo to Okeya Ipo, Omu Aran to Oko, Offa Ojoku Afon Eiyenkorin, and Osi Obo Aiyegunle Road, among others.
Governor AbdulRazaq also announced the upgrade of Offa and Lafiagi stadiums, as well as the completion and inauguration of the Osi Campus of Kwara State University.
On security, the Governor called for community support to complement the government’s efforts in tackling criminality, stressing that security is a collective responsibility.
He commended traditional rulers, council chairmen, vigilantes, and community leaders for their sacrifices, while honoring those who lost their lives protecting citizens.
The Governor urged the people of Kwara South to remain vigilant and united, saying that the region has the potential to reawaken its giants and drive prosperity and peace.
He commended the organisers of the consultation, especially Dr. Thomas Adewumi, for creating a platform that fosters dialogue, growth, and development.
