The First Lady of Nasarawa State, Hajiya Silifat Abdullahi Sule, has reiterated her dedication to empowering women, youths, and girls across the state to enhance socio-economic development.
She gave this assurance while receiving the newly elected executive members of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Nasarawa State Chapter, led by the Chairperson, Comrade Mercy Tanze Zabadi, during their courtesy visit to the Government House in Lafia.
Hajiya Silifat pledged to continue the partnership with relevant women’s groups and organizations to achieve shared goals and encouraged the new NAWOJ leadership to embrace patience and perseverance in carrying out their responsibilities.
Earlier, Comrade Zabadi explained that the visit was intended to strengthen collaboration between NAWOJ and the Office of the First Lady, benefiting women and children in the state.
The NAWOJ Chairperson expressed appreciation to the Nasarawa State Government for appointing NAWOJ member Mrs. Patricia Akawu as General Manager of the Nasarawa Broadcasting Service (NBS), Lafia.
In her remark, NAWOJ Zone D Secretary, Comrade Juliana Ofoku Ose, commended the First Lady’s tireless efforts in supporting the less privileged and appealed for continued assistance to help NAWOJ achieve its
objectives.
