Kogi State Government says it has commenced the 2025 online registration exercise for student’s bursary awards.
Announcing the flag-off at a news briefing in Lokoja, the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Wemi Jones, disclosed that budgetary provisions had been made to ensure timely payment of bursary allowances to eligible students who complete the due process and proper documentation.
He urged Kogi State indigenes in tertiary institutions to take advantage of the opportunity and apply, noting that the initiative was part of government’s commitment to support students and ease their academic pursuit.
The commissioner commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his dedication to educational development, describing him as a leader who is positioning the state as a positive reference point among states in Nigeria.
Also speaking, the Executive Chairman of the Kogi State Scholarship Board, Mr. Afolabi Joseph-Raji, appealed to student leaders to sensitize their members about the programme and encourage them to participate.
He further announced that the online application portal will officially open on September 29 and close on October 31, 2025.
